The Inside Story with Ace Music Producer Solshyne Beatz
Ace Music "Abiose Francis Moyo" but popularly know as SolShyne Beatz coined with a beat tag “MAD Ooo” (made about differently). Solshyne is an award wining music producer that gained his major entrance into the mainstream Music in Nigeria when he got signed to the one of the biggest record label in Nigeria "Kennis Music", He is also a song writer, artist groomer and developer and also a music instructor who is passionate about bringing rising stars to limelight. Solshyne has a background in teaching Music, so he is known for not just creating beats and recording vocals for artiste, he trains artiste to be musically aware of their own natural sound, their environment and audience so as; to only make hits when recording.
Your Time in Kennis Music
I got signed to Kennis Music; I think around June 2014. The call to come work with Kennis Music was one of the best I’d ever gotten at the time because I’ve been a huge fan of Kennis Music from the on set due to their huge dominance and influence in the Nigerian music industry at that time.
The very day I got signed into Kennis Music, I got to work with the biggest artiste in Nigeria at the time Tuface Idibia. Tuface happens to be one of my greatest idols; so it was a special moment for me and still is.
Big love and much respect to my Godfather and Boss Dr Kenny Ogungbe (aka Baba KeKe) he’s more than just a father, he’s my teacher, mentor, leader and my father in music and in my 4 years with Kennis Music and Kennis Radio Station, he molded me into what you see today because that was a solid foundation for me. I hope he gets to read this with a huge smile
What Happened to Kennis Music
Kennis Music basically is a house hold name in the Nigerian Music Industry that has helped us push our sound globally, they contributed largely to what ever you’re seeing today and I think for a record company that’s has run successfully for close to 25 years deserves more accolades and now also operating a radio station KENNIS FM . I also think Kennis Music Evolved and like everything in life, Kennis Music had its Era of Dominance in the Music Industry and would be lovely seeing Kennis Music as the top 5 Music Label in the Country.
The Music Industry Today
Afrobeat has taken over the world already, it’s one of our biggest exports right now and it’s no secret that we are on another level. We have had a Nigerian super star on every world sports event since 2023, The World Cup, The Ballon Dior and Champions League Final. Almost every major record labels in the world are here now (Nigeria) because they see the huge potentials, So us as Africans must come together to make this bigger and better. It is very important we tap deep into this and explore it fully because whatever we do now; the entire world is the audience. We need more infrastructures and also we need a working and functioning board to ensure we maximize our full potentials.
Your Top 5 Music Artiste in Nigeria (Putting Out Good Music)
Hmmmm... There are lots though but to mention a few in no particular order I’d say currently:
- Omah Lay
- Burna Boy
- Asake
- Kizz Daniel
- Tiwa Savage
A lot of people are making hits don’t get me wrong; but these set of artists and more, use meaningful and commercial words uniquely to create beautiful rhythm. Musically they have brilliance in composure and are musically intelligent.
It's really difficult naming a few great artiste out of an ocean of great artists. It would have been easier if I were to mention my top Music Producers or Producers that inspires me with their dedication to excellence. For instance my top is:
- Blaise Beat (Obah)
- Ozedikus (Nwanne)
- Tempoe
- Magicsticks
- P Prime
These are all great Producers, highly inspired by them
Take Us Through Your Discography
One of my biggest hit sound is “money by soft featuring Wizkid“
I remember we had recorded the original song almost 2 years prior to the official release, so at that time we were trying to get Wizkid to feature on another of Soft’s song titled “ikebe”, but he (Wizkid) was in and out of the country so getting him was quite difficult.
We then decide to just go on and promote another song (which wasn't Ikebe as planned) and that was “money“ by soft and it blew up, doing great massively. Then soft got a call that Wizkid wants to jump on the remix of the song “money” !!! The rest is history...
I also produced and co wrote Epo by Joel and he features Zlatan and Davido
I Produced “see me so“ by Zlatan (track 12 on the 2021 Resan Album) .
I Produced "Do good" by Joel
I Produced "Hello mummy" by Oga Network And currently have a new song out with Ay Poyoo the Ghanaian superstar “am a goat“ crooner, tilted “I move” and many others but to mention a few.
I think working with Wizkid on money remix is a great experience that lingers on
What Was It Like Working with Zlatan
Zlatan has been family from the on set because at a time we were both with the same Record Label “Alleluyahboysent”. I met Zlatan for the first time in Dubai at his official signing with the label He’s one of the greatest artists I know and he’s got a great personality and great team spirit.
Zlatan is a monster on the mic, his energy when recording is on another level , He understands how to be creative on any given kind of song and he is lyrically brilliant so working with Zlatan has always been a joy to experience and you always have something to learn from such people
Whats Next for Solshyne
SolShyne started off as a singer in a group of three brothers, then when my brothers left the country to pursue their respective education, I decided to retain the dream and the name too. So from singing, I started learning to produce and write songs both for myself and others too. So this journey has taken me to point where its time to start giving dreamers the oppotunity to seeing their dreams come true.
Let me say this here for the first time I own a record label, already producing great rising stars and in 10 years I know we would be on dominance level
